CAMPING IN PEAK SEASON[Caravanning Australia]
This is our toughest time when caravanning around Australia.
This episode you will find us struggling to find a camp through the peak season. Peak season being the mid year school holidays.
We end find such an amazing camp just north of Brisbane in the Hervey Bay Area and the weather is just amazing
We also finally get out the fish drought and managed to catch some fish for a change. We then head to our next favourite camp where we get wet and catch some more fish
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT, if you haven't yet subscribed to our channel, please help us by clicking the subscribe button. Also if you like and enjoyed this episode, hit the like button. We all hope you have a great week.

HOW TO SAVE WEIGHT ON GVM GCM|Landcruiser 79 series
Kudos to you for showing the epic fail 👌👍 you shouldve just unhooked the van and seen how the car wemt by itself and probably dropped some pressure to start it off and that wouldve given you much more confidence whether or not it was going to be ok with the van. And 4 maxtrax would be plenty cos you wont need em for the van. Its all about experience and knowing your limits so good on you for knowing. But you do need to push the limits sometimes to work it out. And knowing tides is also essential. Theres always next time ay. And as someone else said you could go dowm to 10 all round as long as youre not flogging it you won't pop a bead
Usually enjoy your vids guys but would have liked to see more of what Carnarvon had to offer. Saw the car wash and the vet!!
just block them out on RUclips you don't need stupid peoples comments
As I finished watching your video, I got back to my channel to find a similar nasty comment made by a keyboard warrior… I just removed it, I don’t have the time and refuse to use my energy to respond to those people…
Disaster no way. How experienced are you. The rough roads look pretty easy for an off road van.
Thanks for a great ep, Tanya says you made the right choice - I would have made the wrong choice probably because I'm always too excited lol
You have two, when one runs out, refill the emty, use the spare.. you should never 'run out'? Also, have Swap n Go jumped on board? Keep up the videos!
Good to c u both back on the fish. Luv the banter and competition 😂😂. Hopefully c u at the Zone Muster at Hanger O, cheers Rob & Alana ZSP034
👏here fishy fishy 🤙👍🍻
Great catching the fish mate. well done!!😂😂
Great vid guys. Good to see you catching some fish again. Reckon you’ll get a tinny on the chev?
Loved the Kayaking well done
Great episode good bounce back after Stradbroke island
Thanks Susan, yes it was good 👍
I am glad you didn’t go onto the beach and risk your car and caravan
Congratulations on your return to catching fish! Haven't seen you so chuffed with your self for a while. Well done. Sue, you're a goer. Straight into the kayak and cruising with Deryck yelling out it's got holes in it!! Gold!
Yes it was awesome to feel the bite on the line! Ahahah I reckon worst case I would get wet so might as well give it a go! 😊
OMG we were there early July…. Would have loved to meet you guys.
That would have been awesome. We would have just missed you!
haha yeaaa sue! you crack me up you have subtle humour… “is that like the half you normally give me? …. Where its not actually half” 🤣🤣🤣
😊😅😂 I had to go back to listen to it but yes, that sums it up quite well!
Another great episode guys, can you tell me the brand of fire pit you are using? cheers..
I’m at 8:10 You are reaching for the broken rod 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞 You catch a fish 🎣So stoked for you 🎉
Your enthusiasm is inspiring Love you guys
Hi guys are you down this way for the muster it would be great to catch up.
Unfortunately we can't make the muster
@justvanningit what a shame, it would have been great to meet two fabulous people such as yourselves, and Bobby of course
Great Video Guys. Fishing Rod's need to be secured in a rack to prevent damage. Local knowledge helps also with catching fish. Tourist information centres can often help with fishing information.
Agree on the fishing rods being secured. We just in the middle of trying to sort the ute out for touring and had them in the tunnel boot. Our fault but first in 4 years
What happened to the Mavic Pro 3?
We still have it but also have a mini we use regularly
Great vid again guys. Sue, you are a classic.
😂 thanks Mark, hope you have a great week!
Thank you
Another amazing video guys. It was awesome to see you finally catch some fish. It was great meeting you both and this week and chatting. Hope to see you on the road again some time.
Thanks so much, we were super excited to catch fish again! Have a lovely week and yes will be great to catch up on the road 😊
Thank you so much. great to meet you. Safe travels
So happy for you Derek that the fish are biting again. Stick with the prawns for sure
They are a definite winner!
Thank you . It was so good catching some fish again. Now to find the bigger ones 😁
We have the same fire pit 😁 have found lump charcoal is way better, less smoke and nice to cook over
Thanks so much for the tip! 😊
Yes, the fire pit is awesome and we have had it now for 2 years and loving it
I had to have a laugh, i see these flash zone ads with beautiful backgrounds and the saying " where has your zone taken you" and then in your case at inskip, well your zone took you to a view of the facilites 😂 hats off to you derrick, ive driven through those camp areas and weee it can be a bit of a squeeze, you did well 👏
Thank you. Yea, the camp could do with a bit of clearing but we managed
Another great show and thanks for giving us a bit of a giggle with your fishing expeditions 😊. Also that sink hole made Facebook the other day. If it was me with your fishing rod I would just put a new guide on the tip.
Thanks Geoff, yes the sinkhole was amazing. Happy you are enjoying the content and that we can give you a giggle!
Hi guys thanks for the tip for Trinity Island. We didn’t know it anything about it. So he’s a bait tip for you. Cut some squid tubes into thin slices about 25-35mm long. Put them in a zip lock bag and add red food colouring. You can pop them in the freezer. This bait is to replace beach worms cheap and great whiting bait. Cheers Mick
Oooh that sounds awesome. Thanks so much for the tip, we will def give it a try!
❤
Can that drivers side fender mounted radio antenna be swapped out for a a dual Purpose antenna that does both UHF/AM/FM ?
Wonderful introduction to Trinity. Adding that to the must visit list. And that was a lovely shot of the kayaking!
Great Vid...
Thank you, hope you are well and have a great week 😊
Watching you now from Manning Gorge. Yep didn't check the calendar first. My bad.
😂😂😂 yes the holidays can catch you. Hope you are enjoying Manning, it is such a great spot!
@suelandolt6840 it sure is. Took an hour to get there coming back was another story lol. Even though the water was cold we still loved it.
Thanks you two. That was good entertainment as usual. Cheers
Thanks Dave, always enjoy and appreciate your feedback. Have a great week 😊
The limestone under the sand erodes away causing the sinkhole
That's it, it's incredible to see it when it happens!
Love your videos and can see you love your fishing ❤
💯 it is something we both really enjoy doing!
Derek you should invest in buying a thermacell great insect repell we used it when we went to Fraser Island. And congratulations on your catching of fish. Shout out to Sue as well
That sounds great Will look into it!
Thanks again enjoy your videos
Just go tp a tackle shop and buy a tip runner and super glue it on the rod will be good as new
💯 sounds good!
Buy the 2 piece rods then wrap in a towel or something to protect tip.
That's a top tip! Thanks
Cut the tip off mate It’s ya lucky rod
💯 agree with you!
22:32 sounded like you left Bobby at the Van. 😂
We left Bobby with our froend Dazza and Leah 😊
I've recently got on to you and happily signed on to seeing you regularly. Have just watched your one from a year ago talking about budget... How would you compare now from then ( 1 year later) ??.
That’s a very good question as most of Australia’s Governments and RBA are removing a lot our wealth with their inflationary false Economy. Maybe Sue and Derek would like to do a video on the comparisons as the consumer always pays in the end unfortunately.
Hey guys, yes things are certainly going up I'm cost across the board. We will def build in some information on costs now as then Thanks so much for the question and support!
Going to inskip next weekend. Great episode. Glad to see you back amongst the fish.
Thank you. That's awesome, enjoy your stay 😁
You can buy replacement rod halves and tips for the better known brands. Another great video. Sue is getting ripped off with her bait supply
I did have a look but unfortunately couldn't get any
BCF have rod tips
Just watching this one... Its 12 months since you made it. How much more do you think it costs now in - july 24-.. Thanks ❤.. We retire at the end of the year and plan to do it ??? About 12 months till we set off.
Great episode guys! Well done on getting scores back on the board with those fish 😆🏆 Your footage of Trinity Island captured this beautiful place so well! And Inskip is amazing when the rain stays away 😅
Definitely feels good to be back on the board 😁 Hope you enjoying trinity as much as we did
Our fav camp along Inskip is MV Natone, directly on the beach, just beautiful. We were there a couple of weeks ago so must of just missed the sinkhole but have noticed erosion happening more and more each year. Safe travels guys!
Definitely will try that camp next time, Yea the sink hole was a bit scary as they closed a part of the camp down. Seems like it's happening more often these days.
